We are hiring a Lead Piping Engineer within the Westinghouse Piping
Engineering group associated with the Norwell, MA office, although
the role can be performed remotely. The Piping group performs pipe
stress, pipe support, pipe rupture, piping vibration and piping
fluid transient assessments. The Piping Lead Engineer performs
technical, supervisory and business-related activities. This is for
balance of plant and reactor coolant loop attached piping systems.
The detailed work includes calculation and drawing preparation,
review and approval. Also required is providing guidance to other
engineers and developing and maintaining budgets, schedules and
staffing requirements.
Who You Are:
BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar technical
disciplinerequired. Equivalent combination of education and
relevant work experience will be considered.
5 years of engineering experience required. 10-15 years
demonstrated mechanical piping support and stress calculation
experience in the commercial nuclear industry with a minimum of 10
years in the nuclear balance of plant (BOP) engineering and design
is strongly preferred. The candidate should have demonstrated lead
responsibility on nuclear BOP engineering.
Familiarity with Engineering change package (ECP) and actual
preparation experience preferred.
Familiarity with the IP-ENG-001 process preferred. Training or
qualifications in the process is a plus.
Professional Engineer License or ability to obtain is
desirable.
Communication skills that support working with customers, attending
project meetings, writing proposals as well as internal
conversations with other project members.
Experience with preparing project estimates, review and approval of
piping engineering estimates.
Experience with assigning, directing, and reviewing project
activities.
Knowledge of the nuclear QA and corrective action program
processes
